High Performance COM Express Mini Module Targets Small Form-factor, Low Power Applications
(PresseBox) - Advantech, a leading embedded computing solution provider, announces the SOM-7565 A2, featuring a processor upgrade from N2600 to N2800, and supporting 4GB of on-board memory. This continues the SOM-7565 tradition of small form-factor platforms that offer high performance with low power consumption. SOM-7565 A2 is designed around the Intel® Atom? N2800 processor, and carries up to 4GB of on-board memory, with performance correspondingly more impressive than the previous A1 version. The business-card size, is another feature of this COM Mini module (84 x 55 mm), making it suitable for portable applications in medical, factory, or general detector devices. The fanless design is suitable for ruggedized solutions in severe environments from -40 ~ 85 °C; the SOM-7565 A2 N2800 solution is also a good fit in the military and transportation domains.

With Intel® Atom? processor N2800 + chipset NM10, Advantech is capable of providing a powerful solution consuming around 10W under heavy load.
Compared with the previous platforms, SOM-7564 E680 and SOM-7562 N455, this upcoming SOM-7565 A2 N2800 solution represents more than 200% increase in performance and a 300% improvement in 3D graphics processing. These dramatic improvements still boast a fanless design that supports operation in a wide temperature range. These benefit rugged applications, needless to say; benefit for those require better performance, lower power consumption applications in ambient air temperature.
Flexible Choices for Upgrading Onboard Memory or Storage
In the field of handheld/portable device applications, vibration is always a major concern. SOM-7565 A2 modules are equipped with soldered onboard memory and SSD storage chip. Furthermore, this new solution allows customers expanded choices on memory size. This flexibility for various applications reduces the costs of additional storage design.
Reinforced with Advantech iManager 2.0
Advantech iManager provides a valuable suite of programmable APIs such as multi-level watchdog, hardware monitor, and other user-friendly interfaces.
