Northwood Advisors Leads FirstSight Vision Services to Successful Business Intelligence Program
BI Program Helps FirstSight Compile and Utilize Data Across 160 Locations Statewide
(firmenpresse) - IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/19/13 -- Northwood Advisors, a business intelligence consulting and training company, has completed a business intelligence (BI) project for FirstSight Vision Services, a subsidiary of National Vision Inc that staffs optometrists in 150 Walmart and Sam's Club vision centers throughout California. The BI solution allows FirstSight to manage complex financial information as well as communication and collaboration among doctors working at various locations.
FirstSight initially approached Myron Weber, founder of Northwood Advisors, with the need for a flexible system that could grow and evolve alongside their expanding business to meet emerging needs. A primary goal was to eliminate the proliferation of individual Excel spreadsheets previously used to store its data.
"FirstSight needed a system to share data while simultaneously keeping it protected," says Weber. "We created a secure corporate Web portal where authorized users can access Quality Assurance information, doctor and location information and a comprehensive document library. We developed a database that gave them access to timely and accurate information to better manage the business."
The project created multiple layers of efficiency for the corporation and its employees, including:
Staff access to up-to-date doctor and location data
Elimination of individual lists and data sets
Credentialing and contract status available to its field team of district managers and doctors
Ability to run data reports to share with vendors, business partners and managed care companies
Sharing of training documents through a single library portal
Increased productivity and effectiveness of employees in every location and business environment
The company continues to expand the benefits of the new BI solution. It recently created a Facility Review module to monitor quality and is establishing a process to allow the uploading of sales reports so doctors can view their individual progress.
