Guardian Capital Group Limited Announcement of Executive Appointments
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 08/12/13 -- Guardian Capital Group Limited (Guardian) (TSX: GCG)(TSX: GCG.A) today announced the following appointments, each of which is effective immediately. These appointments are part of the company's long-term succession plan, designed to ensure an orderly transition of key executive roles reporting to the President and Chief Executive Officer.
Donald Yi, who has been Risk Management Officer of Guardian since he joined the company in October, 2006, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Guardian. In addition to being responsible for Guardian's Finance Department, he will continue with his responsibilities in overseeing Information Technology for the company and its subsidiaries.
Vern Christensen, who joined Guardian in 1977 and has been the Chief Financial Officer since 2001, will continue to serve in a senior officer role, with the title of Senior Vice-President and Secretary of Guardian. In this position, he will ensure a smooth transition of financial responsibilities, and provide counsel and direction on important corporate operating and administrative responsibilities.
