Halal Food Festivals Announces Its First Halal Food Festival in Chicago
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 08/09/13 -- Halal Food Festivals, headquartered in Chicago, IL, will hold its inaugural Halal Food Festival on September 14, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at UIC Forum in Chicago.
More than 5,000 participants are expected to attend the Halal Food Festival which will provide halal consumers the opportunity to sample and purchase a variety of halal foods, products and services with live entertainment and family-friendly activities.
"Halal Food Festivals recognizes there is a gap in services and events for the halal community in Chicago and throughout the United States," said Salman Jahedi, Halal Food Festivals President. "We strive to create innovative ways to open doors for halal businesses, consumers and the industry altogether...Our mission is to provide both halal consumers and organizations with like-minded values the opportunity to meet, learn from one another and have a great time doing it," stated Jahedi about the upcoming festival.

According to the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA), U.S. consumers spent $15 billion dollars on halal products in 2011. Exponentially growing each year, the halal industry is expected to be worth over $20 billion by 2015. The increase can be attributed to both the expanding Muslim population and an emerging acceptance of halal meat by the non-Muslim population.
Halal Food Festivals is a subsidiary of LiveCheapr Inc., established in 2010 by Salman Jahedi and Eugene Spivak, who developed a website that would help local businesses increase exposure and attract new clientele.
