Scott Fallavollitta of United Tool and Die Earns Small Business Person of the Year Award
(firmenpresse) - WILMINGTON, MA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/07/13 -- United Tool and Die Company is pleased to announce that Scott Fallavollita, Owner and President, has been selected as the SBA Massachusetts 2013 Small Business Person of the Year. Mr. Fallavollita was nominated for this prestigious award by Margaret Somer, Regional Director of MSBDC at Salem State University, and the official announcement was made by Massachusetts SBA District Director, Robert H. Nelson.
"We are very pleased to honor this extraordinary individual and business owner as our 2013 Massachusetts Small Business Person of the Year," said Director Nelson. "We celebrate his success as well as his business and personal contributions to the betterment of the Wilmington community."
The selection is based on the following criteria: staying power, growth in number of employees, increase in sales and/or unit volume, current and past financial reports, innovation of product or service, and response to adversity and contribution to aid the community.
United Tool and Die is a contract manufacturer specializing in machining, metal fabrication, metal stamping, bending, forming and grinding. Mr. Fallavollita, through utilization of the SBA 504 loan program, bought the business and facility in 2007 and did a complete manufacturing makeover with more energy efficient equipment and a better-organized process. The company is located in Wilmington, MA and today has 16 employees. Community support is evidenced through hires from the Billerica House of Corrections work-release program and contributions to the Prison Fellowship Ministries.
