Blue Horseshoe Improves Operations and Enhances SAP Warehouse Management Solution at Teleflex Medical

Blue Horseshoe's supply chain strategy division partnered with Teleflex to optimize and consolidate the processes and efficiency of their overall distribution operations. Most recently, managing the consolidation and opening of Teleflex's new state of the art facility in Olive Branch, Mississippi. The project goals included improved picking accuracy, improved inventory accuracy, higher fill rates, maximized distribution productivity, enhanced freight loading and rating, simplified operations to minimize new employee learning curves, improved operational and system flexibility to support product and business environment changes, and future customer requirements.
"Training and educating an entirely new workforce, fine tuning Master data, Configurations, and refining Processes are our current focus to get to expected productivity and throughput levels. Over the last 4 months we've completed the transition of 5 businesses, 12,000 SKUs, and 40,000 pallets into the new 630,000SF facility, on time and within budget, while continuing to ship nearly on-time," explains Jeff Cook, Sr. Vice President of Blue Horseshoe-TransTech Division.
In addition to the supply chain operations improvements, Blue Horseshoe implemented new outbound processes in the DC within Teleflex's existing . The software allows for full visibility into the distribution network with optimized manufacturing and supply chain performance. Enhancements to the Teleflex SAP-WM system included:

Parcel Carrier Cartonization/Delivery TO creation and sequencing
LTL/Truckload Palletization/Delivery TO creation and sequencing
Order based replenishment
Dynamic split-case and full-case forward pick locations
SAP to Conveyor real-time, 2-way communication/interface
In-line Conveyor Packing List, CERT and Pedigree print
Integration with the freight system
Development of Teleflex customer route guides
