Orange County Business Council Commends Bay Delta Conservation Plan Focus on Jobs Creation
(firmenpresse) - IRVINE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/05/13 -- Orange County Business Council released the following statement today from President and CEO Lucy Dunn in response to the state's release of the Bay Delta Conservation Plan statewide economic impact report:
"California's current water supply system is clearly vulnerable to many threats, putting Southern California at high risk of long-term, catastrophic interruptions to water access," Dunn said. "The Bay Delta Conservation Plan is the most comprehensive, well-conceived approach in constructing a permanent solution for these ongoing challenges, while also creating and protecting nearly a million jobs, mostly in the Southern California region. Jobs creation and a reliable water supply are essential to the economies of both the state and the region, and without moving forward on the Delta plan the future of the state's economy remains uncertain. OCBC commends Governor Brown for continually moving toward a solution to California's most fundamental issue restraining environmental and economic progress."
