Teddy Bear Picnic to Honour Lindsey Nicholls and Promote Child Safety

(firmenpresse) - COMOX, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/31/13 -- Friday August 2nd will mark the 20th anniversary of Lindsey Nicholls disappearance from the Comox Valley, British Columbia. On the BC Day long weekend on the morning of August 2nd 1993, Lindsey was last seen on Royston Road heading to the Nautical Day celebration in Comox. Lindsey was last seen wearing blue jeans, a khaki top and white canvas shoes.

The police investigation into Lindsey's disappearance remains active and since Lindsey went missing the police have pursued nearly 350 tips in an effort to determine what happened to Lindsey. Despite the efforts of police and investigators from the Missing Children Society of Canada, Lindsey's family still does not have any answers as to what happened that day.

On Friday August 2nd in Port Augusta Park, Comox, BC, from 11:00am - 1:00pm, Judy Peterson, mother of Lindsey Nicholls, is having a Teddy Bear Picnic for Child Safety to mark the 20th anniversary of Lindsey's disappearance. There will be free child safety kits, hot dogs by donation, free face painting and entertainment. Families are encouraged to bring a blanket and enjoy the BBQ, entertainment and to learn about child safety and a National DNA initiative, called Lindsey's Law.
