(firmenpresse) - VAL-JALBERT, QUEBEC -- (Marketwired) -- 07/25/13 -- The Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, spoke to dignitaries and local business people in Val-Jalbert today, highlighting recent measures put in place by the Government of Canada that will benefit businesses and small communities in Quebec and across the country.

"Economic Action Plan 2013 is our commitment to keep taxes low and create jobs, growth and long-term prosperity for Canadians," said Minister Clement. "We are reducing red tape for businesses, improving local service delivery and removing barriers to local job creation."

Through Economic Action Plan 2013, the Government is also helping Canadians obtain the skills and qualifications they need to get jobs in high-demand fields by introducing the Canada Job Grant. Economic Action Plan 2013 underscores the Government of Canada's top priority of creating jobs, growth, and long-term prosperity, while keeping taxes low for families and businesses and balancing the budget by 2015.

The Minister also highlighted the Government's Red Tape Reduction Action Plan, one of the most ambitious red tape-cutting initiatives in the world today. The Action Plan increases Canadian competitiveness, frees business to innovate, invest, grow, and create jobs, and underscores Canada's reputation as one of the best places in the world to do business and invest.

"We are getting rid of business irritants in areas ranging from tax and payroll to labour, transport and trade, and introducing time-saving measures like single windows and electronic submissions," said Minister Clement. "From cutting red tape to investing in skills training to keeping the Government's fiscal house in order, we're clearing the way for Canadian businesses to succeed at what they do best: create jobs, innovate and invest in the future."
