Hotel in Zurich Sends Associates to Help Refurbish Romanian Children's Home

That was the case when associates from the Zurich Marriott Hotel headed to Romania to help add improvements to a local children's home.
On July 19, 2013, the general manager from the traveled to Alba Iulia, Romania as part of the annual South Germany & Switzerland Business Council's charity initiative. There, along with the engineers, the group helped the Stern der Hoffnung children´s home to build up and modernize through the installation of new electrical lines, renovated kitchens and bathrooms and more. The hotel staff also delivered furnishings and accessories to help the children live more comfortably. The two day trip also allowed the Marriott associates to share a meal with the children.
Introduced in 2005, the donation campaign of the South Germany & Switzerland Business Council welcomes craftsmen and engineers with skills in painting, plumbing, and more to assist in renovating facilities in dire need. This year, the Zurich Marriott participated alongside 13 other Marriott properties in the area. Beyond sending people, many of the properties also send along donations of up to 1.200EUR to help buy materials for the engineers on-site.
