Chamber Serves Breakfast at Our Place
(firmenpresse) - VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/23/13 -- The Chamber's Board of Directors will be welcoming Victoria's street community for breakfast at Our Place tomorrow morning. The Chamber is participating in Our Place's Sponsor a Breakfast where businesses and organizations are invited to cover the cost of breakfast and serve the 300 people who visit Our Place for a hot meal each morning.
"Our Place does an amazing job of providing a helping hand, as well as a sense of hope and belonging to the local street community," says Darlene Hollstein, Chair of The Chamber. "Participating in the Sponsor a Breakfast program is a perfect fit for us, as we're always looking for ways to give back to the community at large."
"The Sponsor a Breakfast program has been very warmly received by Victoria's business community and other organizations," says Don Evans, Executive Director of Our Place. "We are deeply appreciative of their funding and support, and we encourage other groups to get involved."

The Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, with approximately 1,500 members, is the voice of business for Greater Victoria and has received Accreditation with Distinction from the Canadian Chamber of Commerce.
Our Place is a community centre serving Greater Victoria's working poor, the impoverished elderly, individuals with mental health and physical challenges and people that are homeless. Our Place provides 45 transitional housing units, over 1,200 meals per day, hot showers, free clothing and counselling and outreach services. Most importantly, it provides a sense of hope and belonging to our neighbours in need.
