Anapol Schwartz Attorney to Receive Pro Bono Award
(firmenpresse) - PHILADELPHIA, PA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/19/13 -- Anapol Schwartz attorney Joel Feldman will be awarded the 2013 American Association for Justice (AAJ) Pro Bono Award on Sunday, July 21 for his outstanding efforts to raise awareness about the . Outgoing AAJ President Mary Alice McClarty will present Feldman with the award during the Leadership Breakfast ceremony at AAJ's annual convention at the Hilton Hotel in San Francisco.
The success of Feldman's End Distracted Driving (EndDD) campaign continues to earn him national recognition year after year as the scientifically-based presentation gets closer to reaching 100,000 teens across the country. EndDD's efforts have made Feldman one of the leading advocates in the country for .
"Our campaign is growing every day with the help of so many trial lawyers from across the country," Feldman said. "I know our communities are safer as a result of our efforts. Trial lawyers are volunteering thousands of hours of their time to save lives. I am so proud to be a trial lawyer, and to have AAJ honor me for what I do in memory of my daughter Casey is very special."
Teens and adults learn that distractions -- and not just those that involve cell phones -- can lead to deadly accidents, a lesson that resonates deeply with Feldman, whose daughter Casey was killed by a distracted driver in 2009. He has since integrated his grief with his experience as a trial lawyer and his master's degree in counseling to develop a steadfast campaign.
Feldman is a member of AAJ's Trial Lawyers Care Committee, which encourages trial lawyers to work in their communities with local non-profit organizations. In addition to receiving the AAJ Pro Bono Award this year, Feldman has been awarded the 2013 Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Humanitarian of the Year Award and the 2013 Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys (MATA) Courageous Advocacy Award for his work in the community.
