Solar Channel(TM) App to Be the First Multi-Source, Real-Time Content and Social Publishing Platform for the Solar Energy Industry
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/09/13 -- InPress Media Group, LLC., a newly formed digital media company for the technology, materials science and life science industries, today at Intersolar North America launched its first beta version of the Solar Channel, a mobile app-based publishing platform that combines and aggregates news, opinion, technical content and social media for the global solar energy industry.
The Solar Channel platform is an innovative digital publishing concept designed to bring together influential solar industry media forming a one-stop-shop solution for the solar energy market. For the consumer, the benefit translates into convenience, with all relevant content inside one app, as opposed to having to download multiple apps for each individual publication.
"Content consumption is going mobile with U.S. consumers now owning more than 125 million smartphones and over 50 million tablets. To address this trend we designed a platform that delivers exceptional value to publishers and readers alike," stated Nick Richardson, business development manager at InPress Media Group. "Greentech Media and SolarCurator.com have already signed up for their own content channels, and we are in discussions with most of the solar industry's key publications, bloggers and some large corporate sponsors."
The Solar Channel platform provides media companies with a new outlet to publish their content and add new revenue streams. Solar Channel will virtually rent out content channels within the app and allow the channel 'tenants' to sell their own advertising or sponsorship packages to complement print and online marketing tools. Not having to invest in their own expensive and high-maintenance mobile app means added benefit for the publisher, allowing them to stay focused on the content.
The Solar Channel app is currently in beta version, as more content providers are being added. The free app will be available in iOS and Android versions next month, and a Windows mobile version is slated for release in Q4.
