Specifically, the lawsuit was filed in the Circuit Court of the 17th Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, Florida. The case was sent to the Civil Division and it was assigned a case number of 10-029103 CACE 18. The plaintiff was an individual male who was injured in the crash at issue and the named defendant was the insurance company of the other motorist involved in the collision. The lawsuit sought damages that were to compensate the plaintiff for losses suffered and for future losses related to the accident.
According to the court documents, the plaintiff was driving his vehicle within the borders of Broward County when he was allegedly hit from behind by another party that was insured by the defendant. As a result of the crash, the plaintiff suffered several serious injuries including significant harm to his spinal cord. As a result of these spinal injuries, the plaintiff was forced to undergo several medical treatments that included observation, rest, rehabilitation and a series of epidural injections.
The court documents went on to state that as a result of the injuries suffered in this car accident, the plaintiff incurred losses that included medical costs, lost income and pain and suffering damages. The documents argued that the plaintiff should be able to recover compensation both for those losses and for losses that he would have encountered in the future.
Rather than fully litigate the matter, the Pembroke Pines car accident attorneys at were able to come together with the representatives of the defense and successfully negotiate a settlement. As part of the settlement, the two sides executed a confidentiality agreement that bars anyone associated with the lawsuit from discussing the specific terms of this resolution.
