Outstanding Training Company
Successful certification in May 2013
(PresseBox) - In May Walter Stauffenberg GmbH & Co. KG was awarded the "Ausgezeichneter Ausbildungsbetrieb 2013" certificate of excellence in training, and was thus rewarded for its ongoing efforts in the area of industrial training over the last few years. This was the result of anonymous surveying of STAUFF trainees in Werdohl, Neuenrade and Plettenberg (Germany) and analysis of training statistics by independent business psychologists.
Judith Grefe of ertragswerkstatt GmbH, who has supervised the entire certification process, emphasizes: "STAUFF and the LUKAD Holding are the only two companies based in Werdohl, who were awarded for their outstanding efforts in the field of vocational training and education".
A total of approximately 60 companies from southern Westphalia with more than 1,200 trainees applied for the prestigious and coveted seal. The aim of the award is to give young people neutral, reliable and credible guidance to help them choose where to complete a traineeship or apprenticeship. At the same time it offers companies the opportunity to draw attention to their efforts and achievements in the area of vocational training and to market their offering in a targeted way.
The data for certification as an outstanding training company are gathered by means of two different tools. In the first step a representative of the company ? generally the training coordinator or head of Human Resources ? completes a questionnaire or is interviewed about the company's training statistics. This training questionnaire concerns not only the trainee and acceptance quotas but also the quality of the training. In the second step the trainees are asked about their personal situation in the company. Here they assess how good the company?s training is, in their view, and how they rate the support they get. This also incorporates elements such as the company?s image and the general level of satisfaction with the employer, but also appreciation, training content, remuneration, future opportunities, possibilities for codetermination and workload.?A combination of key indicators and assessments by trainees gives young people reliable information about how good a training operation really is,? says business psychologist Judith Grefe. After all, only businesses that get good marks from the trainees and that make a special commitment to training earn the title of "Ausgezeichneter Ausbildungsbetrieb 2013".
"Survey respondents comprised trainees who came not only from STAUFF but also from LUKAD Holding. I am proud that within our corporate group we have met such willingness on the part of our trainees. We would like to keep improving, and it is extremely helpful to have such a good indicator on hand," explains Monika Nork-Bobel, Global HR Manager at LUKAD Holding.
"Our results are proof positive," says Berthold Wommelsdorf, Head of HR at STAUFF, enthusiastically. STAUFF scored top marks in key categories. "I just want to mention a selection here. We received top scores in the areas of training content, opportunities for self-directed learning, in working hours and in getting along with one another. We are also very pleased that we received particularly good marks under 'Transparency of Expectations'. It is extremely important at the start of our training programme for both parties in a training relationship to be clear about their expectations from one another," says Niclas von Seidlitz, Global HR Generalist at LUKAD Holding, summarising the results.
Ultimately, the company can only be given the "Ausgezeichneter Ausbildungsbetrieb 2013" seal if its trainees confirm the excellence of its training.
