AIP Precision Machining Wins 2013 Medical Design Excellence Award
(firmenpresse) - DAYTONA BEACH, FL -- (Marketwired) -- 06/28/13 -- AIP Precision Machining was awarded Bronze in the Implant and Tissue Replacement Products category for the supply and design of the Orthofix Ankle Compression Nailing System at the MD+DI's 15th Annual Medical Design Excellence Awards (MDEA) Ceremony. The ceremony is the MedTech industry's premier competition for medical device design and innovation.
AIP provided early stage design assistance along with manufacturing process development and supply of the complex radiolucent carbon fiber targeting jig assembly. The Orthofix Ankle Compression Nailing System is an ankle fusion nail device consisting of an implant, screws, and locking caps. The implant is inserted through the base of the calcaneus into the medullary canal of the tibia via a radio-translucent dual targeting arm.
