On 5 June, associates at the Courtyard by Marriott, Ahmedabad joined together for World Environment Day, engaging the local community surrounding this .
In honor of World Environment Day, the team at this pledged to make their contribution to the local community through a sapling plantation drive. Associates planted saplings around the periphery of this luxury hotel, drawing support not only from the local community but Vipul Mitra, Principal Secretary of Tourism for the Government of Gujarat, who made an appearance. Guests also pitched in, helping to plant saplings.
"As responsible members of the community, the sapling plantation drive was our way of not just spreading the message of environmental awareness, but also actively taking steps to increase our green footprint," Prashanth Kumar, general manager at this hotel near Ahmedabad station said.
World Environment Day, an initiative of the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP), is celebrated each year to raise global awareness regarding environmental challenges through specific activities aimed at reducing carbon footprint.
