UIEvolution and ViewSonic to Preview Innovative New HTML5 Based Hospitality Solution at HITEC 2013
(firmenpresse) - SANTA CLARITA, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/24/13 -- Princess Cruises announced today an agreement with UIEvolution and ViewSonic® to deploy the UIEvolution Hospitality TV Platform™ on the Royal Princess, the newest ship in the Princess fleet that set sail on its maiden voyage on June 16, 2013.

Built on ViewSonic's new smart TV technology for hospitality and cruise lines, the UIEvolution Hospitality TV Platform will deliver the world's first HTML5-based TV solution to passenger and crew TVs, as well as to digital signs throughout the ship. Features for passengers and crew on the maiden voyage will include live TV, ship channels, free-to-guest video-on-demand and music-on-demand. HMS will engineer, install and commission the platform, providing a seamless integration with other relevant systems onboard.

Screen shifting™ live TV, movies and music to the passenger's smartphone or tablet
On-board mapping and routing
Information on ship activities, shore excursions and port guides with the ability for passengers to book from their in-cabin TV, smartphone or tablet
