Harper Government Delivers Results for Canadians
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/19/13 -- Today, the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, the Honourable Peter Van Loan and the Minister of Industry and Minister of State (Agriculture), the Honourable Christian Paradis, outlined the Government's legislative accomplishments in 2013.
"Our Government is focused on creating jobs, growth and long-term prosperity for Canadians," said Minister Van Loan. "Through a productive and hardworking sitting of the House of Commons, we have delivered real results for Canadians by strengthening our economy, creating jobs and supporting families."
Economic Action Plan 2013 contained specific measures to create jobs for Canadians. The Harper Government passed Bill C-60, the Economic Action Plan 2013 Act, No. 1, which will implement the following measures:
"By implementing the important job-creating measures of Economic Action Plan 2013, we are building on our record that has seen the creation of over one million net new jobs since the global economic downturn," added Minister Paradis.
Parliament has accomplished twice as much as is typical. In addition to the budget, the Harper Government has also moved forward on other important priorities by passing legislation that will:
In addition to the Harper Government's legislative measures, the House of Commons has approved many private Member's bills and motions.
"This session of Parliament has been marked by an unprecedented level of individual Members of Parliament bringing forward and passing ideas which are very important to them and their constituents," said Minister Van Loan. "Never before have we seen this number of substantive private Members' bills become law."
