Made in the USA Foundation and Made Movement Host Hall of Fame Dinner to Honor Top American Manufacturers
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/17/13 -- Made in the USA Foundation and Made Movement will host the Hall of Fame Awards Dinner and silent auction on Tuesday, July 2 at 6 p.m. at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica, Calif. The awards dinner will honor the outstanding achievements of the top in twenty-two categories, including sparkling wine, jeans, luggage, wind power, health and beauty, luxury cars, high-tech/electronics and more. Emmy Award-winning actor will be a presenter. Some of the luxury items that will be auctioned include a limited-edition print by Michael Schwab, fine lamps and a beach bicycle.
Hundreds of companies were nominated for Hall of Fame Awards, and seventy companies were selected. Some of the nominees include GE Wind Power, , Cree, Domaine Chandon, Hudson Jeans, Brooks Brothers, American Apparel, J.W. Hulme and more. Executives and representatives from many of the nominated companies will be in attendance, including award-winning Tesla Designer Franz von Holzhausen.
Three expert, anonymous judges are assigned to each nomination category to determine the winner. The companies in each category are judged based on three criteria, beginning with the quality of its products, including reliability, workmanship and ability to perform the function for which they were designed. The second criterion is competitiveness, which includes whether the products in question are accepted around the world for quality and value. The final criterion on which nominees are judged is impact, which includes unique design and inventiveness.
The was co-founded by Joel D. Joseph in 1989 and is dedicated to promoting products manufactured and/or assembled in the USA. The foundation's online platform serves as a tool for shoppers to find USA-made products and as a resource for USA-based manufacturers to showcase their goods. Made in the USA Foundation pursues litigation and legislative action to strengthen and uphold labeling laws and standards. It also encourages American values around the world, raising the bar concerning minimum wages, environmental standards, labor rights, and human rights, including eliminating child labor.
