General Manager Kris Horacek was watching a Home Depot commercial last spring and was inspired by the vertical plant display that a homeowner was tending on her patio, and so she decided it would be a perfect addition to the Business Center.
"Quite often business travelers go from their car to the airplane to a hotel to a meeting and never get five minutes outside to experience nature," notes Ms. Horacek. "Our Business Center offers a view out on to the pool and by bringing the outside in to create this green installation on the wall, we hope that it has both a calming and inspirational effect on harried road warriors." Living walls with natural plants are said to better oxygenate air and create a calming ambiance for a space.
And apparently Ms. Horacek's vision has paid off. "Guests are always taking photos of it as a backdrop," she notes. "They always ask us if the plants are 'real' and then go ahead and walk over to the installation to feel the leaves just to make sure."
