Donation Part of Countdown to Farmers Day
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/13 -- UFA Co-operative Limited is a proud supporter of Farmers Day, celebrated on Friday, June 7th. This year, UFA is donating $50,000 in honour of Farmers Day to over 100 local organizations in the communities we serve across Alberta and areas of Saskatchewan and B.C.
"We are not only passionate, but committed to investing, supporting and celebrating rural life. Farmers Day is just another way we live up to this promise to our members," says Bob Nelson, President and CEO, UFA Co-operative Limited.
UFA's network of Farm & Ranch Supply stores and Petroleum agencies, took part in determining where to share the Farmers Day donation across the province. Each local store and agency provided a $500 cheque to an organization that champions rural sustainability. Many locations held cheque presentations and had special guests visit their store or agency to show their appreciation.
Farmers Day is a long-standing Alberta tradition. For farmers, it's just another day of hard work.
