National Environmental Non-Profit Presents Solar Stage Music Performances, "Green Screens" Films and Mobile Phone Recycling at Popular Summer Festival

(firmenpresse) - DENVER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/04/13 -- , a national not-for-profit environmental organization that partners with the music industry, announced its participation for the ninth consecutive year in the largest music festival in the United States. At the 12th Annual , taking place in Manchester, Tenn., June 13-16, 2013, Rock the Earth will host music performances and artist interviews, unique "eco-activities," environmental film screenings and a mobile phone recycling drive.

Moderated by Rock the Earth founder and executive director, Marc Ross, the theme of this year's performances and discussions on the Planet Roo Solar Stage will be "Social Change Through Music," exploring what inspires musicians to be activists, as well as the interconnectedness between music and social, environmental, political and/or philanthropic causes.

The "Social Change Through Music" interviews and performance participants include: John Oates; Alex Ebert (Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes); John Fullbright; Black Prairie; Allen Stone; Johnnyswim; Wake Owl; He's My Brother She's My Sister; Ryan Montbleau Band; Naia Kete; The Mowgli's; Nocona; and The Revivalists.

Rock the Earth will also host "Green Screens Presented by Rock the Earth," a series of award-winning environmental films that will take place in the Cinema Tent, featuring film Q&As and introductions by people associated with each film. The following films will be featured:

Now in its fifth year, the Rock the Earth 2013 kicked off on Memorial Day weekend at in Chillicothe, Ill., in Cumberland, Md. and in Colorado Springs, Colo., and will continue over the next two weekends at in Hunter, N.Y., in Ozark, Ark., and in Manchester, Tenn.
