Media Advisory: Harper Government to Make Announcement Regarding Food Safety
(firmenpresse) - SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN -- (Marketwired) -- 05/16/13 -- On May 17, Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz will make an announcement regarding food safety in Canada.
The Minister, along with senior representatives from the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Health Canada, will be available to respond to media questions following the announcement. Joining the Minister from the CFIA will be Dr. Martine Dubuc, Chief Food Safety Officer for Canada and Vice-President of Science, Neil Bouwer, Vice-President of Policy and Programs, Dr. Parthi Muthukumarasamy, Acting Director of Meat Programs. On the phone line will be Helene Couture, Chief of the Evaluation Division for the Bureau of Microbial Hazards at Health Canada.
