By-election Results Will Be Available After the Last Polls Close
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/10/13 -- - Preliminary results will be available at from 7:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Monday, May 13, 2013, for the federal by-election in Labrador (Newfoundland and Labrador). Unofficial voter turnout results will be displayed in real time throughout the night.
- As soon as polls close, the deputy returning officers count the votes and transmit the results to the returning officer for the electoral district, who immediately relays them electronically to Elections Canada in Ottawa.
"As soon as the polls close, Elections Canada staff work together to get election results to Canadians as soon as possible," says Chief Electoral Officer Marc Mayrand.
