Canada and U.S. Strengthening Science and Technology Relationships
(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/03/13 -- The Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology), has wrapped up a successful visit to Boston, New York City and Washington, where he delivered remarks at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Forum on Science and Technology Policy.
During his visit, he met with representatives from scientific, university and business circles to discuss the Harper Government's policies and strategies related to science, innovation and commercialization.
"As we face common challenges and explore new frontiers, both at home and internationally, we take great pride in building partnerships that strengthen our work and improve our lives," said Minister of State Goodyear. "Increasing business investment in research and development is crucial to our long-term competitiveness, and we are making it easier for businesses to innovate."
In an address delivered to the scientific community attending the AAAS Forum on Science and Technology Policy, the Minister of State underscored the Harper Government's approach to science and technology, its achievements in building partnerships between academic and business interests, and its direct and indirect support of innovation. He encouraged stronger business relationships and improving the links between Canadian and American researchers and entrepreneurs.
