Norwegian Breakaway Launched
Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that its gigantic Norwegian Breakaway ship has reached the final stages of construction and will be ready to sail in April 2013
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 04/26/13 -- The 4,000+ passenger vessel floated out from the Meyer Werft docks bow-first in February, proudly displaying her signature hull artwork from iconic artist Peter Max. She also completed her conveyance along the River Ems in March, confirming her seaworthiness and ramping up even more excitement for her debut voyage in April.
The Norwegian Breakaway will sail on a 7-day itinerary from New York to Bermuda and Florida.
The City That Never Sleeps
The ship will also be bringing the best of NYC to the high seas, including high-end dining and entertainment. Norwegian has revealed an incredible design facet in the quarter-mile-long open air boardwalk - The Waterfront - that will boast eight al fresco restaurants and lounges. The cosmopolitan character of NYC will shine through a Brazilian BBQ, a top-quality steakhouse, a speciality Italian gelato shop, and a pair of stylish Norwegian bars. The Breakaway will also be introducing a spectacular seafood restaurant to The Waterfront, complete with raw bar and sushi options.
The Waterfront will connect to the ship's central atrium, 678 Ocean Place. Here guests can while away the hours in a choice of 17 dining venues, 12 bar lounges and a casino. There will also be a chance to catch three Broadway shows: Rock of Ages, Burn the Floor and Cirque Dreams & Dinner Jungle Fantasy.
Accommodation Options for All
Stripping back the more eclectic designs of Norwegian Epic, promotes sleek, Scandinavian flourishes and more traditional suite layouts. There's an upscale suite complex called The Haven with private pool enclaves and an exclusive restaurant.
Families will be pleased to hear that there are 42 ocean view 'Family of Five' cabins. Parents with more than two children can opt for these rooms as they provide more affordable and convenient accommodation. There are also stylish studio cabins for single travellers and several luxury spa suites that couples may wish to consider.
The Breakaway boasts Norwegian's biggest kids' facilities. There is a top-deck aquapark with more slides than any other cruise vessel, a sports complex with zip ropes and a swim club with classes for every age and skill level.
