(firmenpresse) - ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES -- (Marketwired) -- 04/24/13 -- Minister of International Cooperation Julian Fantino issued the following statement following his meeting today with Her Highness Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi of the United Arab Emirates: "I congratulate Her Highness Sheikha Lubna on her appointment as Minister of Development and International Co-operation. The creation of a new ministry for international development in the United Arab Emirates will allow for greater collaboration between Canada and the UAE.
"Today's meeting was the beginning of our work together on our mutual objectives to reduce poverty and enhance security in the developing world by investing in economic and human development.
"The Global Vaccine Summit gives us our first opportunity to discuss Canadian and Emirati approaches to development assistance, and to set the early groundwork for what I expect will be an ongoing and fruitful collaboration.
