Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI(R)) Gains 5 Points
(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwired) -- 04/24/13 -- Spectrem Group announced today that the Spectrem Affluent Investor Confidence Index (SAICI®) reached a 12-month high in April. The Spectrem Millionaire Investor Confidence Index (SMICI®) gained five points. The indices measure the investment confidence and outlook of households with $500,000 or more in net worth.
"Equity investment among Affluent investors rose in April while Cash investing decreased," noted George H. Walper, Jr., President of Spectrem Group. "Meanwhile, equity investment also drove the increase in the overall Millionaire Index. Stocks and Stock Mutual Funds were the investment vehicles of choice among Millionaire, while Bonds dropped to a more than six-year-low. But among Affluent investors there is still concern whether the recent stock market rallies are real."
When asked what is the factor most affecting their investment plans today, an increased percentage of Affluent investors responded, "Stock market conditions," followed by the "economic environment." Fewer Affluent investors this month said they are keeping a close watch on the political environment, the perception that the White House and lawmakers are willing or able to work together to strengthen the economy.
