UOMO Launches UOMO Filmworks

(OTCBB: UOMO), a multi-channel media and entertainment company, announces the launch of UOMO Filmworks, a multi-disciplinary production company that produces and acquires integrated entertainment for use across the entire range of traditional and emerging media platforms.
Based in Toronto, UOMO Filmworks is a full service production studio enabling content creators to engage with advertisers and other partners, from the inception of the creative process, creating bespoke original content for consumers distributed through today's evolving digital distribution platforms such as iTunes and YouTube.
UOMO Filmworks is currently developing programming featuring celebrities in the areas of reality, lifestyle, and music-based documentary. Structurally, YouTube is the closest thing to a traditional TV model on online video where virtually everything is available for free, supported by advertising, with revenue being shared by the "network" and the programmers. This model has proven to be hugely successful. The video for South Korean singer Psy's song Gangnam Style has generated over $8 million in advertising revenue through YouTube alone, where it had been watched 1.23 billion times, yielding a royalty of about 0.6 cent a viewing, according to Google.
The continued rise of digital in 2012 helped the music industry report its first lift in annual revenues since 1999, as the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) reported a 0.3% year-on-year increase to $16.5bn. Digital music revenues were up 9% last year, to $5.6bn accounting for more than a third of total industry revenues (34%).
