The Fraser Institute: Media Advisory; New Report Measuring Tax Burden on Average Canadian Family Coming Tuesday, April 23
(firmenpresse) - VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/22/13 -- The Fraser Institute will release a new report showing how the average family's tax bill has changed over the past 50 years, on Tuesday, April 23 at 6:30 a.m. (Eastern).
The Canadian Consumer Tax Index tracks the total tax bill of the average Canadian family from 1961 to 2012 by adding up the various taxes that a family pays to federal, provincial, and local governments, including income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes, Employment Insurance and Canadian Pension Plan contributions, and "hidden" taxes such as import duties, profit taxes, and gas taxes.
