Local Virtual Assistant from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia is the 1st Canadian Elected Vice President of International Association
(firmenpresse) - DARTMOUTH, NOVA SCOTIA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/18/13 -- Nova Scotia businesswoman, Kathy Colaiacovo, Principal at Time on Task Virtual Assistant Services, has been elected as the first Canadian Vice President of the International Virtual Assistants Association (IVAA) - a nonprofit trade association for Virtual Assistants worldwide.
IVAA is a volunteer-run organization with 700 members from 18 different countries. They help members build and grow their business through education, networking, certification and annual conferences. IVAA also educates business owners on the role of the Virtual Assistant and how they can save time and money by outsourcing tasks. Colaiacovo's role as Vice President will be to help IVAA continue to thrive and grow its membership and remain the premiere association for Virtual Assistants.
Colaiacovo opened her Virtual Assistant business in the summer of 2008 and is a graduate of the Self Employment Benefits program (SEB) run by the Centre for Entrepreneurship Education and Development (CEED) office in Halifax, NS.
Working from her home office and by networking locally and online, Colaiacovo has seen her business grow to encompass a team of 8 Virtual Assistants. Both the team and clientele are virtual and located throughout North America. Ms Colaiacovo reveals she has only met in person, three of her team members and a handful of her clients over the years.
Colaiacovo works with clients to become more efficient with their business operations and develop a strategic, strong online presence supported by effective marketing using blogs, newsletters and social media, her specialty. She helps clients strategize ways to help them grow by integrating email and social media marketing into their business.
Ms. Colaiacovo has quickly built a reputation as a leader in the Virtual Assistance Industry and was first elected to the IVAA Board of Directors in March of 2012 as Marketing Director. She is the first Canadian Vice President with IVAA and is part of the most internationally represented Board of Directors in its history with 7 Americans, 3 Canadians and one Venezuelan. She will assume the role of President in 2014.
