CAODC Presents Safety Awards to 2 868 Drillers and Rig Managers
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwired) -- 04/12/13 -- This weekend, the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors (CAODC) will continue its 33-year tradition of recognizing senior field employees who achieve 200 days of rig operations without a recordable incident.

This represents over 570 000 days in which Drillers and Rig Managers led their crews in incident-free operations in 2012.
The drilling industry will gather Saturday at the Westin Edmonton for the annual CAODC Safety Awards banquet. The service rig awards banquet will take place April 20.
Industry measures its safety performance using a formula known as Total Recordable Incident Frequency (TRIF). TRIF for the rigs has seen significant improvement in the last decade. Incident frequency has been cut to one-third of what it was ten years ago.
CAODC president Mark Scholz ties this industry achievement directly to rig site supervision: "This industry is working safer than ever. New technology has played a role in that, but also, drillers and rig managers are professionals who make the heavy equipment on these jobsites safe work environments."
