500px Launches Redesign of Professional Photo Portfolios with Customizable Features, Dedicated User Pages and Unique URLs

Every photographer's work tells a story, from the photos themselves to the colors, textures and styles. That's why 500px is excited to announce a complete redesign of its Professional Photo Portfolios to enhance the way its community can showcase their photos and build a unique online presence on the 500px platform.
"We're currently in final beta testing," says founder and COO Evgeny Tchebotarev. "In May we're rolling out what we believe will become the industry standard for creating and showcasing professional-grade online Portfolios."
What are Portfolios and How Will They Improve a Photographer's Experience?
The new Portfolio UX will supercharge a photographer's 500px experience by enabling them to design and create a custom personal website on the platform with its own URL, robust backup system, tabs, pages and zero maintenance or incremental hosting fees.
The Portfolio redesign is based on three principles: Beautiful, Unique and Easy to Use and lets photographers:
Post-launch, the 500px Portfolio will continue to evolve with additional themes and customizations so users can create a one of a kind look for their page that expresses their vision and style.
The company is releasing the Portfolio redesign in early May and will provide users with previews and tutorials.
500px is also increasing storage limits for all accounts. Free accounts will now be able to upload 20 photos per week, while Plus and Awesome will accept larger size of photos, up to 100Mb per file and continue to have unlimited storage.
Because of the additional functionality and features, the company is adjusting the pricing of our Plus and Awesome membership. Starting May 1, the Plus account will be $25/year, and Awesome account will be $75/year.
However, current members or anyone planning to upgrade, will have the opportunity to lock in the old pricing for as long as they want by purchasing or renewing their Plus or Awesome membership before May 1, 2013.
