Neighborhood Development Company Announces the Successful Completion of Its Latest Condominium Project "Columbia Court"
(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwired) -- 04/11/13 -- Company (NDC) announces the completion of its condominium Columbia Court project. Several new residents have already closed on their units, and the remaining units are all under contract.
Columbia Court is located in the heart of Columbia Heights at the corner of 13th and Fairmont Streets, NW. Both the interior and exterior were totally renovated as part of this project. Interior finishes included hardwood floors throughout, new tile finishes, and contemporary kitchen packages with stainless steel appliances. The exterior received reworked and added balconies, accessibility ramps, and a large private courtyard soon to be a central gathering place for residents and their families.
The development of Columbia Court was a unique collaboration between NDC and the District of Columbia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD). The project was built to market rate standards in a neighborhood which has priced out many long term residents, but 100% of the units in the building are affordable and will retain such affordability for at least 22 years.
Adrian Washington, NDC's principal and founder, stated that "We are proud to have worked with DHCD, the Deputy Mayor's Office, and members of the community to restore this building, which has long been a neglected and vacant nuisance, to deliver this latest addition to the Columbia Heights community."
Michael Kelley, Director of DHCD stated: "Once again, DHCD has facilitated the return of a vacant and abandoned property to the District's tax rolls, serving moderate income families. We are grateful to partners like the Neighborhood Development Company who make our mission possible through our Property Acquisition and Disposition Division."
Matt Stevenson, one of the new residents of Columbia Court, said, "Everything is going well with the unit... I love it. The building is great... I love the neighborhood."
PGN Architects, PLLC () is the architect for the project while NDC Builders, LLC, an affiliate of NDC, served as the general contractor. The Bank of Georgetown () providing financing for the project. Sales and marketing efforts were handled by Urban Pace. ()
