RiceBran Technologies Establishes Special Committee to Evaluate Strategic Alternatives
(firmenpresse) - SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwired) -- 04/11/13 -- RiceBran Technologies (OTCQB: RIBT), a global leader in the production and marketing of value added products derived from rice bran, today announced the appointment of a Special Committee of the Board of Directors to review and evaluate potential strategic alternatives involving our rice bran technologies. The Special Committee will be staffed by our independent directors.
CEO & President W. John Short commented, "Considering the significant opportunities resulting from the alliance entered into last week with Wilmar International Group, the Board of Directors of RiceBran Technologies has determined that it is in the best interests of the Company and its shareholders to focus additional efforts on pursuing a full range of strategic alternatives, including those that may provide capital to the Company and facilitate the growth of our overall business. We are fortunate that our independent directors have agreed to increase their commitment to these business pursuits."
