Frenchman Yann 'keefkeef' Pelletier claims $27,620 prize
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 04/09/13 -- PKR Live, flagship tournament series of next-gen poker room , returned last weekend at Aspers Stratford with a record field of 291 runners and a prize pool of $130,950. After three grueling days of action it was Frenchman Yann Pelletier who emerged as champion, collecting a timely cheque for $27,620 two days before his 32nd birthday.
For Pelletier, who plays on under the username 'keefkeef', it was the second biggest cash of his career so far, behind a EUR69,500 runner-up finish in a 2010 FPS main event. The Frenchman has played on PKR since September 2010 and is one of the poker room's most popular and successful Gallic stars.
"Winning this event was a truly amazing feeling" he said. "Only live poker can make you feel this way. It actually balances out all the frustration accumulated by playing tournaments with no success in the past. Winning PKR Live is definitely one of the best moments I've ever had.
