CPI Hosts First Nonviolent Crisis Intervention(R) Training in Hong Kong

ID: 1214348

(firmenpresse) - MILWAUKEE, WI and HONG KONG -- (Marketwired) -- 04/08/13 -- The Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) has been extending its community of caring to China. Last week, the training company hosted its first ® Instructor Certification Training Program in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong is the first Chinese city in which CPI has chosen to launch its training programs. Because it has both traditional Chinese roots and a Westernized mindset, Hong Kong is the premier city for CPI to culturally prepare its programs for the Chinese market.

"We are extremely excited by the turnout for our inaugural Hong Kong training," said CPI CEO Tony Jace. "It is a testament to the commitment of these attendees to provide the best level of care to the individuals they serve."

CPI's Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training program is considered the worldwide standard in crisis prevention and intervention training. It teaches staff to respond effectively to the warning signs that someone is beginning to lose control, and addresses how staff can deal with their own stress, anxieties, and emotions when confronted with challenging situations.

The Instructor Certification Program allows a Certified Instructor to share the powerful strategies throughout his or her organization. The program was sponsored by Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service, a major mental health provider in Hong Kong.

"Organizations like Baptist Oi Kwan embody the passion necessary to create the culture of care in which Nonviolent Crisis Intervention® training can thrive," said Jace. "It is through their effort and support that we are able to make this training a success."

CPI comes to China with a mission to provide Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security(SM) to workplaces, to staff, and to the individuals they serve, even during the crisis moment. CPI views its expansion to China as a long-term investment in the professionals who share a commitment to making a difference for the individuals they serve.

CPI, headquartered in Milwaukee, WI, USA, is the world's leading training organization specializing in the safe management of disruptive and assaultive behavior. Since 1980, more than six million professionals have participated in CPI training, and thousands of organizations worldwide have successfully implemented CPI's unique behavior management techniques.
