27th and 28th Removals and 40th Apprehension of Individuals "Wanted by the CBSA"

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 04/08/13 -- The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today announced the 27th and 28th removals and the 40th apprehension of persons on the "Wanted by the CBSA" .

On March 21st, CBSA Inland Enforcement officers, with the assistance of the Calgary Police and the Alberta Integrated Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested Edgar Tsovikian in Calgary. Tsovikian is inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality, for being convicted of breaking and entering, committing offence, possession of prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, mischief, and possession of property obtained by crime.

On March 24th, the CBSA removed Hong Guang Xue from Canada. Xue was inadmissible to Canada. He was charged with an offence outside of Canada that, if committed in Canada, would constitute a Canadian offence.

On April 3rd, the CBSA removed Robert Akwasi Boakye from Canada. Boakye was inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality, for having been convicted of extortion. He has also been convicted of uttering threats, possession of counterfeit mark, obstructing a peace officer and fraud over $5,000.

Both Xue and Boakye were arrested by the Toronto Immigration Task Force, a unit comprised of RCMP and CBSA officers, in late February.

To date, as a result of the "Wanted by the CBSA" program, Canadians have assisted in locating 40 individuals in Canada, of which 28 have been removed. Additionally, six individuals were located abroad.

Members of the public are reminded that they should not take action to apprehend the individuals listed on the CBSA Web site. Any information on the whereabouts of these wanted individuals should be reported to the CBSA Border Watch Toll-free Line at 1-888-502-9060.
