"Are You Staying With Me?"-the Best Celebrity-Owned Hotels in the World

ID: 1212903

(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwired) -- 04/03/13 -- Nothing says 'I've made it' like owning your own hotel. And what's better than owning one hotel? Opening another hotel with Nobu Matsuhisa - sushi star chef and owner of the globally-popular Nobu restaurants! That's exactly what Robert De Niro's just done with new project Nobu Hotel Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

De Niro already owns The Greenwich Hotel in the TriBeCa area of Lower Manhattan. It boasts 88 stylish rooms, an indoor pool and even a 250-year old wooden farmhouse that was painstakingly reconstructed by Japanese craftsmen. He's not alone. A whole host of celebrities are in on the hotel act. Here are some of the best:

Bono and The Edge's Clarence Hotel, Ireland

The veteran rockers used to be some of the hotel's best customers, so it was no surprise when they decided to get some investors together and buy it in 1992. Gathering talent from across the globe, they realised their vision of a luxurious, unpretentious hotel that embodies Irish hospitality.

Francis Ford Coppola's Blancaneaux Lodge, Belize

Talk about getting away from it all. The film director's hotel sits in a remote corner of the beautiful Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve. The luxury cabanas were specifically designed to fit in with the natural rainforest surroundings. Mr Coppola's holiday property portfolio doesn't end there either. He's also got a 10-room lodge in Guatemala and a Caribbean beach retreat.

Donatella Versace's Palazzo Versace, Australia

If there's a name you associate with opulence and style, it's Donatella Versace. The Palazzo Versace certainly lives up to the reputation. A room at this palatial hotel in Queensland will set you back around GBP 300 a night...ouch! At least you get some free perfume though!

John Malkovich's Big Sleep Hotel, Eastbourne

"Sorry did you say Eastbourne?" Yes we did - staycation anyone? Instead of charging hundreds of pounds per night, John Malkovich prides his hotels on affordability. This budget-friendly chain provides rooms that start at GBP 25 a night. The Eastbourne hotel proved so popular that two more have sprung up in Cardiff and Cheltenham.

Of course you don't have to be a celebrity to be treated like one. offer VIP treatment without breaking the bank. The new Style Collection provides world-class hotels at the same price as a standard all-inclusive break. Don't we all deserve a little luxury now and then?
