Happy end in sight: Mr Letterpress woos Ms Cotton
Gmund April 2, 2013 – Mr Letterpress, a remote ancestor of Johannes Gutenberg (the inventor of letterpress printing), meets Ms Cotton, a respectable young lady from Gmund on the shores of Lake Tegernsee. They get to know one another better and they fall in love. Their first kiss soon follows.
(firmenpresse) - The papermakers in Gmund announces these lovebirds’ liaison in an impressive multipart mailing sent to more than 1,000 printing houses, creative agencies and brand-name manufacturers in Asia, the USA, Australia and Europe.
In the first instalment of the three-part mailing, Mr Letterpress experiences his first meeting with the temptingly beautiful Ms Cotton, whose soft and appealing surface is made from 100% cotton. One soon realises that one simply must touch Ms Cotton, so the reader dreamily runs his or her fingertips across hand-painted sketches which have been reproduced in letterpress printing.
The recipients of the second mailing get samples in 110, 300, 600 and 900 g/m² so they can experiment with letterpress or other printing methods on this soft cottony paper. The liaison between Ms Cotton and Mr Letterpress is consummated in third and final mailing, in which printed samples from Armani, Volkswagen and Audi show how impressive this couple can be.

Tender, soft and made from 100% cotton, she’s voluminous yet light as a feather, with a paper bulk of 2.0. She looks classical and elegant in the colours Linen Cream, New Grey, Gentlemen Blue, Power Blue and delicately shimmering Shiny Cream. And she is substantial and eye-catching with grammages from 110 g/m² to 900 g/m². Matching envelopes are available in Linen Cream, New Grey and Gentlemen Blue in the standard formats and in elegant Small and Medium versions.
