Inaugural Event to Preview Select Artists and Performers Slated to Appear at Mission Federal ArtWalk and ArtWalk San Diego

(firmenpresse) - SAN DIEGO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/29/13 -- Every first Sunday beginning April 7 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the art and food worlds will come together for Art a la Carte at the Aventine, home to Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Truluck's Seafood, Steak & Crab House, The Melting Pot and Cafe Japengo. The monthly pop-up art series is produced in partnership with ArtWalk San Diego, producer of San Diego's original fine art festivals, including Mission Federal ArtWalk on April 27 and 28 in Little Italy and ArtWalk (at)NTC Liberty Station on August 24 and 25.

Foodies and art lovers are invited to come together to immerse themselves in San Diego's thriving fine art and dining scene. The intimate street festival-inspired event will showcase the work of noted artists, performers and musicians. Patrons of the Aventine's restaurants can stroll along the lifestyle center's "restaurant row," take in the sights and sounds and then stop in to the eateries to enjoy happy hour and restaurant specials. - A painter who uses bold color and lots of detail to transport the viewer to another place.

- With a painting style called "urban impressionism," Michael is truly a rising star of the art world.

- Inspired by Southern California, he is known for his "plein air" paintings of surfing scenes and familiar San Diego sights.

In its 29th year in 2013, Mission Federal ArtWalk is Southern California's largest fine art festival and takes place in April. With its backdrop of San Diego's hip and historic Little Italy neighborhood, ArtWalk marks the arrival of Spring each year as it fills the streets with more than 350 visual artists, 30-plus performance troupes and interactive art activities for families at KidsWalk. Mission Federal ArtWalk is free to attendees.

Formerly known as ArtWalk on the Bay, ArtWalk (at)NTC takes place in a stunning park setting at NTC Liberty Station in late August. The festival celebrates both visual and performing arts in the historic and lovely setting of NTC's Ingram Plaza. More than 160 visual artists, a full musical performance lineup and art for families are in store for attendees of the free public festival.
