Community Involvement Ignites 'Spirit to Serve' at Hotel in Leeds City Centre
Leeds Marriott Hotel Associates Launch 2013 Community Service Events
(firmenpresse) - LEEDS, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 03/27/13 -- Launching exciting new events for 2013, the Associate Relations Committee at one of the premier has ignited the "Spirit to Serve" among associates and enthusiasm is growing as projects continue to evolve.
Starting off the year with the "Great Marriott Bake Off," associates at the Leeds Marriott Hotel engaged in baking cakes, buns and other treats as part of a bake sale to raise funds for the Prince's Trust Fairbridge Programme. Netting £ 120 on this first endeavour of the year, the bake off also created some camaraderie among associates and the selection of a "Star Baker." Another bake sale was then scheduled for March 15 as the associates' "spirit to serve" focused on a special edition in conjunction with Red Nose Day.
Turning their attention to the environment and working to provide a greener, healthier planet, the associates of this will take part in the Environmental Month - Clean Up, working at the Alexandra Court Residential Care Home to clean and rejuvenate the garden area by planting some spring and summer flowers for the residents and staff to enjoy. Hotel associates have worked with the home in the past on a variety of functions and this project allows them to continue to build on their relationship while maintaining a commitment to environmental community service projects.
Conveniently situated among hotels near the Royal Armouries Museum and other popular attractions, associates of the Leeds Marriott plan to conduct a food drive to benefit the Trussell Trust on "Spirit to Serve Our Communities Day" during the upcoming Marriott Appreciation Week. Prior to the annual Appreciation Week associates will be collecting tins of food to be dropped off at the local food bank.
As the Associates Relations Committee continues in fielding ideas and capturing enthusiasm for the Marriott's world recognized "Spirit to Serve" efforts, the group has also had a team step forward that is willing to put themselves through the paces of the "Three Peaks Challenge" for the purpose of again raising funds for the Fairbridge Programme. This adventurous event will take place in either June or July.
