Government of Canada Continues to Look for Savings in Media Monitoring
(firmenpresse) - GATINEAU, QUEBEC -- (Marketwire) -- 03/08/13 -- Today, the Government of Canada announced it will continue to look for savings in its media monitoring services.
Public Works and Government Services Canada's (PWGSC) Electronic Media Monitoring Program, through the consolidation of contracts, achieves substantial savings on behalf of the Government of Canada. Estimated annual savings based on the current five-year negotiated contracts for these licenses are approximately $18 million.
The Government of Canada is committed to saving taxpayer dollars and keeping taxes low. From April 1st, 2011, to December 11th, 2012, the Government of Canada spent approximately $22 million on media monitoring services.
The Government will continue to look for common sense savings by finding efficiencies in government services such as media monitoring.
PWGSC manages five government-wide license contracts from major Canadian news sources. These contract licenses provide participating departments with national and regional coverage in both English and French that is compliant with Canada's copyright law.
