Minister Bernier Hails Work of Canadian Entrepreneurs
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/04/13 -- Today, the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), addressed a gathering of entrepreneurs and outlined the Harper Government's ongoing work to improve Canada's business environment.
"Fewer and easier-to-understand regulations mean entrepreneurs will have a much simpler time complying with them," Minister of State Bernier told attendees of Startup Canada's Bridging the Financial Literacy Gap event. "This means you are not forced to spend valuable time away from doing what matters most-growing your businesses and creating jobs in Canada."
A recent survey by the Canadian Federation of Independent Business indicated that paper burden is second only to taxes as an issue for business owners. During his address, Minister Bernier described measures being taken through the Red Tape Reduction Action Plan to cut unnecessary red tape, as well as to improve service and regulatory predictability for Canadian businesses.
"Startups and small businesses are drivers of innovation and creativity in Canada," added the Minister of State. "Our Government is committed to making it easier for them to succeed by keeping taxes low, cutting red tape and increasing Canadian exports to new markets."
By cutting red tape and making the regulatory process as pain free as possible, the Harper Government is helping to reinforce Canada's reputation as having one of the most attractive business environments in the world today. These are some of the most important initiatives the government can undertake to help business grow, create jobs and ensure Canada's long-term prosperity.
As outlined by the Prime Minister, the Harper Government remains focused on what Canadians care most about: their families, the safety of their streets and communities, their pride in being a citizen of this country, and their personal financial security.
