Announcement highlights:

, Canada's largest retailer and etailer of consumer electronics, is excited to roll-out its Electronics Take Back recycling program in Quebec across all stores in the province. Launching March 1, customers in Quebec can responsibly dispose of their end-of-life electronics - including TVs, media players, monitors, computers and peripherals - at any one of the 27 Future Shop stores in the province, to a maximum of two items per day, no matter where they were originally purchased. Customers are asked to drop-off their electronics for recycling to the customer service desk inside Future Shop during business hours. There is no cost to the customer to go green with this service at Future Shop.

"After listening to many customer inquiries about how and where to safely dispose of old electronics, we're thrilled to launch our Electronics Take Back program across the province," said Thierry Lopez, Marketing Manager, Future Shop. "The drop-off process is extremely easy and convenient, and we're pleased to help customers reduce their eco footprint when it comes to electronics recycling."

The province of Quebec joins Future Shop's Electronics Take Back program after years of successful recycling in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario. Future Shop has partnered with the Electronic Product Stewardship Canada's (l'Association pour le recyclage des produits electroniques ) Quebec division to operate the environmentally responsible and regulated recycling of the electronics received from customers. All recycling is handled in Canada.

Future Shop's Electronics Take Back program is a natural extension of the small electronics recycling program already available to customers within every store in Canada.

In 2012, together with Best Buy Canada, Future Shop recycled 5.8M lbs. of electronics, 175,000 mobile phones and 45,000 lbs of batteries.
