Compliance Week 2013 Announces Speaker Line-Up and Robust Agenda
Ed Breen of Tyco International and Jeannette Franzel of PCAOB First Announced Keynote Speakers
(firmenpresse) - BOSTON, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/26/13 -- Compliance Week 2013, Compliance Week's 8th annual conference and the premier event designed for senior compliance, risk and audit executives at global corporations, today announced a prestigious speaker line-up and a compelling program agenda.
Ed Breen, CEO of Tyco International from July 2002 until September 2012 and now the non-executive chairman, will deliver the opening day keynote. Breen took the reins at Tyco after then-CEO Denis Koslowski was sent to prison on fraud charges. Breen had to replace most of the board and senior management team, and rebuild the culture, and convince skeptical customers the business was on the road back to redemption, and rescue the business from the brink of bankruptcy.
Day 2 will feature a panel discussion from leading thinkers in the auditing industry to explore how well-functioning that industry is or is not, and how corporations and investors can get more worth from audit firms' opinions on corporate financial statements and operations. Leading that panel will be Jeannette Franzel, board member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). Prior to joining PCAOB, Franzel served for almost 23 years at the Government Accountability Office (GAO), spending a decade in the Senior Executive Service. Joining her will be Greg Weaver, CEO of Deloitte & Touche, and Trent Gazzaway, national managing partner of the audit practice at Grant Thornton.
