Medivation and Astellas Provide Additional Support to Metastatic Prostate Cancer Patients Through Donations to Independent Non-Profit Patient Assistance Organization
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA and NORTHBROOK, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 02/25/13 -- Medivation Inc. (NASDAQ: MDVN) and Astellas Pharma US, Inc., a U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based Astellas Pharma Inc. (TSE: 4503), announced that the companies are providing additional support to the Chronic Disease Fund (CDF). CDF uses charitable donations to help eligible men with metastatic castration resistant prostate cancer that need financial assistance paying their out-of-pocket expenses, including co-pays or co-insurance. CDF is an independent, non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to help eligible patients obtain prescription medications. Independent of Astellas and Medivation, CDF determines how to distribute donations and evaluate patient eligibility.
