A regular Red Hawk Card Room player from Fairfield, Calif., had quad fours and thought he had a winning hand, but then a Rewards Club member from San Francisco drew a six high, straight flush of clubs and beat him. This qualified the table for Red Hawk's Bad Beat jackpot of $102,759. The "losing" hand earned the player from Fairfield the top payout of $51,378; the Rewards Club member from San Francisco received $25,689, while the six remaining players at the table each walked away with $4,282. A Bad Beat jackpot is paid when a normally "unbeatable" hand is played, but loses to an even stronger hand.
During the same weekend, three players won table jackpots totaling more than $35,000. Ruben from San Jose, Calif., visits Red Hawk Casino every month and enjoys playing table games. He had placed the small $1 side wager while playing Three Card Poker and was dealt a straight flush, which paid out the $4,083 progressive payout. On Sunday, Feb. 17 a lucky player from Sacramento was playing Four Card Poker. His straight flush was beaten by a royal flush, which qualified him for the Two Way Bad Beat progressive jackpot of $25,000. That same day, Debbie from Martinez, Calif., was the lucky winner of Red Hawk Casino's first Bonus Blackjack progressive jackpot of $5,991.
