Federal Language Rights: Complaint Can Now Be Made On-line
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/15/13 -- Citizens who believe their language rights have been infringed can now file complaints with the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages through a secure e-mail account.
"Now that all the necessary privacy and security precautions have been taken, I am pleased to announce that complaints can now be filed on-line," said Commissioner of Official Languages Graham Fraser.
Citizens who wish to report a violation of the Official Languages Act by a federal institution can now do so through the Office of the Commissioner's Web site (). Complaints can also be filed by telephone, by regular mail and in person at any of our nine offices throughout the country.
Last spring, the Office of the Commissioner of Official Languages surveyed several hundred complainants, most of whom expressed a strong interest in using the Internet to report language rights infringements.
